iFoldy is a one-person project, and that person reads every email.

Get in touch

A bug, a question, an idea for a new pocket — write to info@hildel.com. Answers usually take a day or two.

For problems, these help most: your device model, the iOS version, whether it happened folded or unfolded, which layout you use (single screen, Book or Clamshell) and what you did right before it happened.

Using the wallet

How do I open and close the wallet?

On iPhone Duo, unfold the phone — the wallet opens with it, and folding it closes the wallet again. The cover on the outer display is decorative and has no controls. On other iPhones and iPads, tap the cover or swipe it upward; to close, swipe down on free material or tap Close.

How do I take out a card?

Tap or pull an exposed card upward. Hold a stack to fan it out, then pull any card upward. Drag sideways to turn it, flick to flip it, and drag the lower edge down to put it away.

Where are the note, map and calendar?

In the rear slip pockets. On the open iPhone Duo there is one on each side of the fold; on the single-screen holder the sleeve sits at the right edge. Tap the paper peeking out to pull it out; tap the fold icon or the surrounding material to put it back.

How do I change the material or pocket layout?

Tap the small gear at the lower left. You’ll find layout (Automatic, Book, Clamshell), card arrangement, Material & Color, wear, the retaining band, sounds, haptics and the app language there.

Can I put my own name on the cover?

Yes, with iFoldy Pro. Settings → Wallet → Personalization: enter a name of up to 40 characters and pick the original mark, a symbol or your own picture. Name and logo can be reset separately; the lettering inside stays iFoldy.

Can I hide side pockets I don’t use?

With iFoldy Pro, Settings → Wallet → Side pockets switches Notes & Reminders, Business cards, Photos, Receipts, Map, Calendar and Food & Loyalty on or off individually. Hiding a pocket never deletes what’s in it.

How do stamp cards work?

Pull out the Food & Loyalty pocket and add a stamp card: name, shop, reward, 5 to 30 stamps, one of seven designs or your own photos. Add stamps right on the card in your hand. When it’s full, log the reward you received from the shop and the card starts over. It’s your own tally — it doesn’t replace the shop’s card or app.

How do I rearrange cards?

Open the card collection and choose Arrange in wallet, then hold and drag cards between pockets. Pocket menus and VoiceOver actions work without dragging.

Scanning cards

The scanner doesn’t capture automatically.

Place the card on a plain, contrasting surface with even light and hold the phone steady for a moment. You can always tap Capture now, or pick a photo from your library instead.

Why do I have to mask numbers myself?

Text recognition can miss details. So that a full card number or security code is never stored by accident, you confirm both sides yourself and cover anything sensitive with opaque masks before saving.

How do I scan a receipt?

Cards → Receipts opens your receipt collection. Scan with the document camera — several pages at once — or pick photos, give the receipt a name and save. Search finds recognised English and German text; every receipt can be shared as one PDF.

How do I link a card to an app?

In the import preview or under Cards → Edit card → Linked apps, pick one of 18 banking and health apps, paste your own app link or name a Shortcut. For apps without a direct link, iFoldy walks you through a one-time Shortcut and can copy a ready prompt for the Shortcuts app. The card in your hand then shows a button that opens it.

Can I use the scanned cards to pay?

No. iFoldy shows pictures of your cards — it is not a payment app and doesn’t add anything to Apple Wallet. With iFoldy Pro, a card can show a short hint on bringing up Apple Wallet with the side or Home button; iFoldy can’t open Wallet itself.

Data & devices

Do my cards sync to my other devices?

No. Cards, notes, photos and receipts stay on the device they were created on. iFoldy has no cloud of its own.

Will my cards move to a new iPhone?

No — card images, receipts and wallet photos are deliberately excluded from device backups, so they don’t travel through iCloud or a computer backup. Please rescan your cards on the new device.

What happens when I delete the app?

All cards, notes and settings stored by iFoldy are removed with it. Reminders and calendar events live in Apple’s own apps and stay untouched.

How do I revoke access to Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Camera or Location?

In the iOS Settings app → Privacy & Security, or under Settings → Apps → iFoldy. The features that need that access simply stop showing data.

Can I bring back the example cards?

The three starter cards are seeded once and can be deleted permanently. The example wallets (Everyday · Europe, Travel · Europe, Everyday · USA, Everyday · Japan and Everyday · India) are under Settings → Wallet collection and never touch your own cards. There you can also switch on Realistic sample cards for detailed specimens.

Are my settings kept when I restart the app?

Yes. Material, wear, layout, card arrangement, retaining band, haptics, sounds, theme and language are saved on the device the moment you change them.

iFoldy Pro & beta

What’s free, and what does iFoldy Pro add?

Free: every fold and pocket, the example wallets, up to three cards of your own, Cognac, Espresso and Bordeaux leather in all conditions, and the note, map, calendar, business cards, photos, receipts and stamp cards. Pro adds unlimited cards, the five other finishes, the retaining band, your name and logo on the cover, the ID window, all business-card designs, choosing your side pockets, adding and completing Reminders and Apple Wallet hints on cards.

Is iFoldy Pro a subscription?

No. It is a single in-app purchase through the App Store, with no recurring fees. The price is shown in the App Store and in the app.

How do I restore my purchase?

Settings → Restore Purchases. On the same Apple Account, Pro is unlocked again on your other devices.

What happens to my cards if Pro is ever refunded?

Nothing is deleted. All your cards stay usable and editable, and saved designs keep showing. You just can’t add a fourth card or make new Pro changes until Pro is active again.

How do I join the TestFlight beta?

Enter your email address in the form on the home page and press Send. You’ll get an invitation from Apple’s TestFlight app by email; install TestFlight on your iPhone and accept it. You can leave the beta at any time in TestFlight.
